Your workspace matters more than you might think. A quiet, well-lit space with a neutral background signals professionalism in video calls. A basic webcam upgrade and a decent headset (even a $20 one) dramatically improve the impression you make during interviews.
Finding Legitimate Opportunities

Filter for companies headquartered in the US, UK, EU, or Canada — these markets offer the strongest compensation and are most comfortable with remote-first hiring.

A short, specific message explaining why you are interested in their company converts better than mass applications.
Getting Paid Internationally
This is the question every Nigerian remote worker faces, and the good news is it has never been easier. The recommended setup in 2026 is a combination of Wise (for receiving GBP or EUR) and Grey or Cleva (for receiving USD directly to a Nigerian-friendly dollar account).
Avoid relying solely on PayPal — fees are high and withdrawal options in Nigeria are limited. For larger contracts, discuss payment via SWIFT transfer directly to a domiciliary account at any major Nigerian bank.
Tools and Equipment Needed
